Angkor Wat pass is $20 for one day, $40 for 3 days and $60 for a week. Beer is $1 a can or small bottle, $2 or more for a large bottle. A very decent meal can be had for $2-$5, but you%26#39;ll be paying twice that for places that foreigners hang out at (with nice tablecloths, etc). Decent guesthouse $10-$20 per night. (I suggest you book a place now as it is high season, and the little guesthouse I stayed at last week was booked up a week in advance)

Hiring a tuk-tuk will cost you $10 a day, most guys charge an extra $3 or so to get up early and take you to see the sunrise. To get out to farther-off temples it%26#39;ll cost you around $15 a day. A guide will charge an additional $25. Invest in a good guidebook like the Lonely planet series, or if you%26#39;re really into photography, grab Michael Freeman%26#39; ';Ancien Angkor';.

Oh, for my budget, including guesthouse, food, beer, tips, transport, etc I would estimate I spent around $40 on average per day.

Can you make it without a guide?

/Anna

I%26#39;ve been there twice without a guide. Your driver, whether it be a guy in a car, a tuk-tuk or a motorcycle, will take you exactly where you want to go, and drop you off at the temple entrance. You show your pass and then you have as much time as you need to walk around and see the place, take photos, etc.

I recomend also going to the Floating village %26amp; then further on to Kampong Phluk %26amp; the flooded forest.

A great tuk tuk driver I always use is Pov. He will pick you up from the airport %26amp; speaks good english. You can contact him on :

Which guest houses do you suggest please

I suggest looking at the highly related guesthouses in Siem Reap (or bed %26amp; breakfasts) as reviewed on TripAdvisor. A few thoughts off the top of my head for well priced places...

Two Dragons (currently rated aas #3 B%26amp;B on TripAdvisor) is great.... less thsn $20US for a double room, incredibly clean, friendly staff, nice location, very casual, good food, etc.

The Villa (currently rated as the #2 B%26amp;B on TripAdvisor) is also great.

The Golden Banana, Golden Mango, and Golden Orange are further names of reputable places.

Seek, and ye shall find!

I stay At Molly Malones which is $20 - $30 a night - nice room/air con/TV/fridge. The best thing is the location. you are right in the heart of the market/restaurant area around Pub St.
