Our 4 week trip through Laos was going to start in southern Laos via train from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani. Due to airport closure in Bangkok we have to find another way to get to Pakse in southern Laos.
One alternative is to fly from KL to Siem Reap and then overland to Si Phan Don area. Can anyone please provide some information on travelling from Siem Reap to Si Phan Don. I know there is a flight Siem Reap to Pakse with Laos airlines and we will consider that but I%26#39;m looking at overlanding it.

Hi Blue, get the S.R - P.P. bus and get off at Kampong Cham there maybe transport heading up river/road from there or you may need to nightstop, if you have no joy in K.C. make for Skon ? (the spider town) and head north from there, whatever you dont need to go into the Penh. Cheers

Thanks for the info. I was kind of hoping not to have to back track all the way to Kampong Cham from Siem Reap, that%26#39;s kind of going in the wrong direction if heading to Laos. I saw there is a road heading north from Kampong Thum (about half way between SR and KC), is that not an option?
Where is the spider town?
