Options for multi-entry visas for cambodia?

Hi all,

I am going to Cambodia soon and will be there for 2 months. Would like to travel to Vietnam and Thailand while I am there but it seems as though you cannot get a multi-entry tourist visa for Cambodia....anyone have any advice on a workaround here?

Should I apply for 2 single-entry visas so I can at least take 1 trip out of Cambodia and get back? Is that allowed?

Thanks in advance.

Options for multi-entry visas for cambodia?

You can%26#39;t get the multiple entry visa on arrival as far as I%26#39;m aware, but you can get a standard 30 day visa on arrival, then get it extended to a multiple entry 6 month visa quite easily once inside cambodia. I think I paid $165 for it and it took about 3 days (in Siem Reap) There may be other cheaper options for multiple entry visas, I don%26#39;t know.

You can also do two 30 day visas back to back. At least 24 hours has to pass between them. Would be cheaper....

You should read through the posts on Lonely Planet. There%26#39;s lots of visa info there....

OK great suggestions, thank you!

Can I ask if you know of where I%26#39;d go to get the 30 day visa extended? I%26#39;ve read I can go to a local tarvel agent once in Cambodia...is that right? Or do I need to go to an embassy in Phenom Phen? Any suggestions?

Many thanks again!

Yes don%26#39;t bother going to the embassy in Phnom Penh. You%26#39;ll sit there for days, pay a bunch of money and never get anything done.

Take it to a travel agency as suggested. They will get it done for you cheaply and efficiently. Your hotel can also usually arrange it for you.

Great, thank you so much!

Simply get a buisness visa on arrival $25.00 , Then extend it at a travel agent for up to one year , i use Lucky-Lucky on Monivong Boulivard , take your passport in the morning , pay the fee , get a receipt , pick it up following day after 5 p.m. None of the BS one needs to get used to in Thailand . You are actualy welcome to visit Cambodia and the people are far friendlier .

Enjoy your stay .

ODBALL is correct to note that you have to get the business visa for $25 on arrival if you want to extend /convert it into a 6-month, multiple entry visa.

That said, given the cost of the 6-month visa ($150-$180) and the ease of getting a 30-day tourist visa on arrival for only US$20 (though they may demand $40 if coming overland from Thailand via Poipet)...why not just get a new visa each time you (re-)enter Cambodia?

You do not have to get a business visa on arrival in order to get it extended.

A simple tourist visa can be extended. I did it last year.

But can the tourist visa be extended to a six-month multiple entry visa? I thought that was only available for business visas...

I guess so, since that%26#39;s what I got. But who knows what kind of doings were going on behind the scene....

I have been using the buisness visa for 3 years now , there are no doings or goings on behind the scenes as i am aware , it could not be more straight forward . You have to get a visa on arrival at the airport anyway , no problems with immigration or customs unless you have something to hide , very polite people . Wander into the travel agent and same-same , no hastle , no sour looks , get it extended , the only way it could be easier is if they had a door to door delivery .
