Hi all. Just spent a wonderful week in Cambodia.
I wanted to share a couple of pointers to save people money.
My friend and I bought a three day pass for Angkor Wat, got there day 1 for 5am to see sunset. We had tired our own tuktuk. By 4pm we%26#39;d done the lot! We werent rushing, being a photographer I took lots of pix along the way.
Not quite sure what people are doing for three days to be honest! lol
Angkor Wat takes ONE day NOT three
London takes ONE day NOT three
I got up early and finished all my London sightseeing by 4pm. Not quite sure what people are doing for three days to be honest! lol
Angkor Wat takes ONE day NOT three
Each to their own!
i can spend more than 1 day in Angkor Wat alone, let alone all the other temples!
Not true for me!
I was there for three days and could have spent a lot longer going round all the different sites. I never did get out as far as the Roluos group of temples, although I did make the 30+ km drive to see Banteay Srei with its gorgeous, deep, crisp carvings.
Some people can get in and out fast and just see the bits they want to see, but there are miles of bas-reliefs at Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom, and if you love poring over all the details or just want to wander slowly looking at the lovely colours and textures as the light changes then 3 days go past quite fast.
Lol glad everyone enjoyed it at their paces various! :-)
IF you buy A 1 day ticket about 2 hours before sunset the day before you are allowed in to watch the sunset on the hill opposite ankor watts. you can walk up the hillk or get a elephant ride.
3/4 days is bare minimum if you want to see all the major temples. Literally could spend weeks there and not see them all. Not sure where the OP went, but find it highly improbable that they hit everything.
My appetite for Angkor Wat was unslaked after two days - I would happily have gone back for more, although my tolerance for temples is not particularly high.
Still, there are different levels of experiencing a place. It%26#39;s often said that 3 days is long enough for Helsinki, but I%26#39;m still learning new things after 34 years.
That said, I suppose one day IS enough if you view Angkor Wat entirely through a viewfinder. You can always find out what you%26#39;ve seen later by looking through your pics.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days in Siem Reap and would not have wanted any less time. 3 day temple pass is economical and tickets must be purchased after 5pm to stay that evening free.
There is so much more to see than just Angkor Wat.

Happy %26amp; safe travels
Angkor Wat itself takes just a few hours to see. The Angkor Wat complex and outlying temples can take 2 weeks, if you want to really see it all. My 4 days there 5 years ago didn%26#39;t do the place justice, so I%26#39;m heading back next month for a week.
Kamr-Did you see these places;
Preah Ko
The Bakheng
Koh Ker
Pre Rup
Banteay Srei
Beng Mealea
The Roluos Group
The Baphuon
The Bayon
Kbal Spean
Phnom Kulen
?
Probably not. Do it your next time %26#39;round.
