Restaurant by street kids

Hi

I watched a documentary when they went to eat at a restaurant somewhere in Cambodia where the restaurant staffed by street kids.

It was an iniative to educate the street kids with a trade and prepare them for later life.

Does anyone know the name and address of this restaurant?

Thanks

Hi,

do you mean ';Friends'; restaurant?

here is theirs website: streetfriends.org/CONTENT/BUSINESS/business_鈥?/a>

There is another restaurant by the river called Ponlok where waiters are young children.

Hi deyveed, it would have to be Friends Restaurant.

All the staff are former street kids who have been gaining first-hand experience in the hospitality business, serving customers, taking orders, cooking and learning about hygiene in the workplace.

We have been there quite a few times heres some of our photos and info on Friends.

Great

thanks for the links

Can anyone tell me how was the food in this restaurant? Aside from the fact that it employs street children, is the food worthwhile?

we ate at both- the food was great and we bought the cookbooks so that we could duplicate at home. Good for both vegis and meat eaters.

The food is fantastic and well priced.

We were there in August and the food, service and atmosphere at Friends is really great, we loved it and went back several times. It is very creative, fresh, and just a nice, friendly and upbeat atmosphere, and compares very favorably to any commercial venture, highly recomend it! Take a look at their website too. You can ';buy'; a brick for $50 which is handpainted on a wall at their center, makes for a nice gift later on for your traveling companions and brings back great memories of PP!
