What is largest USD denomination note to take?

What is the largest USD denomination note to take to Cambodia (and Laos)? I was going to stick to USD 20s but my travel partner seems insistent on bringing 100 dollar bills. I don%26#39;t know if anyone there will be able to accept or cash a USD one hundred dollar bill. Any advice or preferably actual experience would be appreciated. Thanks.

Used 20, 50, 100, however these were in bars/nightclubs/hotels. Keep in Mind - If you try a 50 or 100 on a small vendour - they might have problems trying to break it for you.

ATM(s) are available - they dish out $20(s).

Most places where foreigners hang out can change a $100.00 note , most ATMs pay out a combination of $10/20/50.00 notes , but they add on a premium for the previledge . The accepted norm for ATM charge is 2% AFTER currency exchange which i have been charged for a long time now , however , my last withdrawel of $700.00 they socked me $78.00 , no luck on return as yet . Thailand never used to charge me any premiun , however , there was talk of adopting the idea . Bring your dollars with you and save a lump of your savings , or Travellers cheques .

Depends on your bank - mine charges me zero transaction fee or exchange. Check prior and decide if its worth it for you.

I used my bank card in ATM%26#39;s with no fees (better deal than in the US). Plenty of ATM%26#39;s around that were on the Cirrus network, so no need to carry a lot of cash, and the exchange rate is the best.

Whatever size notes you take, just make sure they are pristine; no tears or otherwise mutilated. No one will take them.

I always find it%26#39;s good to take a good stash of ones. Handing a tuk tuk driver a fiver is a problem.

Depends on where you plan to eat and sleep!

Take lots of $1 notes with you around the temples to buy trinkets and snacks, etc. You can use the $100 bills for your temple pass (a three day pass is $40US I think), and for your accomodation. They%26#39;ll all have change for $100. You could pay your driver all in one hit at the end of your three days, and get rid of another bill..... but to start off with, you%26#39;ll need some small money ;)

As a senior citizen , my home bank charges me no fees for any transaction , my card is on Interac and Plus , Atm%26#39;s have made a charge for the 3 years i have been here .

personally, would make sure there is a big stash of 1%26#39;s and 5%26#39;s for normal every day use, and 10/20%26#39;s if paying for bigger things - ie meals for 2/3+, and 20%26#39;s+ for paying fot hotel/guide/driver

I spent a week in Phnom Penh recently and had no trouble paying with $100 bills at most places. Of course I had lots of ones for the tuk tuks. So for convenience you may not want to carry a stash of 20%26#39;s.
