Hi All.
Is it possible to do a one day trip with car/driver to
Roluos Group, then Kompong Phhluk, then onto Beng Mealea (at least 2 hour visit)and return to SR?
I have the price list from ';Angkor Guides'; which quotes US $50 for 4 seat car to Beng Mealea return. Hoping that for a bit more I can see the other two places as well. I will be there in the dry season so should be able to drive all the way the KP. Maybe????
Has anyone else done a similar trip or offer any advice please?
Many thx

Are these three places do-able in one day?
I have never heard of Kompong Phhluk. If you mean Kompong Thom, it is way to far to do as a day trip.

do you want to go to kompong phluk by boat? - its a nice trip!
I%26#39;d think that the roulos group, and boat trip are enough for one day
beng melea is probably a little too far out to fit into the one day. If you have another spare day, could go go kbal spean, or phnom kulen first, and then beng melea
Hi Maneki,
Kompong Phluk is a cluster of villages of stilted houses on Tonle Sap, 16 km southeast of Siem Reap. Depends what season it is to where the waterline comes up to.
Hi Air837,
I plan to do another day trip to see Kbal Spean and Phnom Kulen, but isn%26#39;t Beng Melea in the total opposite direction? I thought I could go to Kompong Phluk by car as it will be the dry season.
Thanks both for your responses.

Beng Melea is on the way to Kabal Spean. I did both in the same day plus the Rolous Group.
Forgot to metion, I did my tour with Villa Siem Reap (you don%26#39;t have to be staying there to do their tours) for $30, it included air conditioned car, guide and lunch.
I did Kompong Phluk with them as well as a separate tour for $25, same things included.
you may be able to get through, but its really not the same! you see so much more on the water approaching the town
Ah, the floating villages. OK, now I see...
Incidentally, are you aware what there is to do at Phnom Kulen? I was entirely underwhelmed by my experience there 2 years ago. While it is very much a holy place for locals, it looks to be nothing more than a seriously littered picnic spot. Sure there are some falls, but Kbal Spean has those too and the river carvings are far more impressive at Kbal Spean. A $20 road toll is also levied at Phnom Penh which is entirely a rip-off. I would never go there again although I would go back to Kbal Spean as it is a truly lovley place. Bring good walking shoes as you have to hike up some rocky areas for a bit on the ay up to the river.
Hi Maneki,
Last night I sat down and reread everything I could about Phnom Kulen and decided that I would give it a miss afterall.It%26#39;s a long way to go, expensive and maybe not so good. I was just swayed by comments that this is where Angelina Jolie jumped over the waterfall, but really....who cares? And now this morning I am reading your latest comment I feel I have made the correct decision. So,thank you once again.
Hi Air,
You%26#39;ve convinced me. I will go by water as it does sound much better. I was trying to save time is all. I have increased my full days in Siem Reap from 4 to 6, but I%26#39;m still having trouble fitting everything in.
BUT, I%26#39;m determined to make it work!! Might have to give up Roulus temples. sigh.
Regards
Cooperellie
