Kim Soryar lived up to expectations

We just came back from Siem Reap on a 4 day trip and used the services of Kim Soryar. We must say that all the praises that this site have of him is true. He is really a very patient, soft spoken and caring driver. He will offer you bottled water before you set off to visit the various sites.

But nobody is perfect. As the weather was extremely hot,we were sweating profusely. He has cold towels in his cooler. But he did not offer it to us until we asked for it.

Highly recommended.

am really pleased that he has lived up to your expectations as we have booked his services for our trip in November

Dont worry. He will take good care of you enroute. But inside the temples, you are on your own.

Suggest you take a towel to wipe the sweat. I saw many tourists hang a towel round their neck. A very good idea that we had missed.

Another suggestion is to bring a pair of light cotton gloves. You may want to wear them when climbing up to the 3rd level of Angkor Wat. Very steep and you will definately be using your hands to climb. Even using the iron bar on the south side, the gloves will be useful.

Hi Lawli, Thanks for your comments. We, too have enganged Mr Soryar for our trip in Nov. So far, he has been very responsive and helpful. Did you stay at his Villa/hotel? If yes, how was it?

Hi

I also used Kim Soyar for 2 days at the beginning of September.

What a lovely man!

And very informative with loads of information that he shares with you before arriving at each temple.

I was a bit unsure which temples to visit and in what order but everything just seemed to fall into place while in the hands of Kim Soyar.

He has a very professional approach to his work and treats you as though you are his King and Queen (his own words) and this is why he won%26#39;t join you for lunch or dinner as it would not be in keeping with his position!! Not that this is what we wanted but it just gives you a indication of the quality of this guy.

The other thing I found amazing about Kim is that if you look at his face his features are very similiar to those of the large faces at the Bayon Temple!

Nearly all the local people you meet in Siem Reap are lovely and are very friendly and welcoming as are many of the tuk tuk drivers you comes across and it would indeed be easy to organise a driver on arrival and be quite happy with your time there.

But if you want to organise a driver in advance who will meet you at the airport and is not only good but relaible ,extremely informative, attentive and above all a Gentleman ,Kim Soyar is the man for you!!

Hi, Ruby

No, I did not stay at his villa. I am not aware that he has one!

I stayed at Angkor Holiday Hotel. Very satisfactory. But a little far from the old market and the pub street area.

wow this is such good news , am so glad that everyone has found soryarto be good and reliable, as we have booked his services for november

I would echo all the previous posts about Soryar. We used him for 3 and a half days at the end of September and he was an inspiring young man. He has dreams of becoming a guide and I hope he can fulfill them.

He is a treasure.

Marian

Does anyone have his contact information? We will be headed to SR for 3 days in November. Thanks.

It%26#39;s KimSoryar@yahoo.com

We just came back from cambodia yesterday. When we were in siem reap, we had Kim Soryar as our driver. He is excellent! Very detailed and patient person.

Just tell him your needs and he will do his best to cater to them. We also asked him to arranged a car for us to Phnom Penh. The driver was good too and even our driver in Phnom Penh was arranged by him, Bascially, everything went on perfectly and he even called to make sure everything was fine when we were in Phnom penh.

Ask for Kim Soryar as your driver and things won%26#39;t go wrong :)
