Cycling the outskirts of Siem Reap

I would appreciate suggestions for cycling routes to points within 25-30km radius of Siem Reap and Angkor Wat. From what I%26#39;ve read so far, it sounds like Tonle Sap, Banteay Srei, Roluos are some options. I%26#39;d especially suggestions on villages, floating and otherwise, where I can observe authentic local ways of life. I%26#39;m a pretty strong rider, but I don%26#39;t want to go where it%26#39;s too remote since I%26#39;ll be riding by myself. Many thanks!

There are so many. I usually head out of town in a different direction each day and after afew kms or so just turn off and keep heading down dirt tracks, ok. i sometimes have to back track but most of the time my sense of direction gets me back to base camp without doing so. I really wish more people would do this sort of thing(and not only in Siem Reap)it%26#39;s just a great way to see the countryside and meet folk who dont work within the temple complex or Siem Reap. The road out to the lake is very busy these days however there are back roads (tracks) seek and ye shall find. Happy cycling.

P.S. Dont worry, the more remote the best, just make sure youre back before sundown.

Thanks, LingThailand, I shall venture out and be adventurous! I%26#39;ll also be cycling in the South of Thailand.
