Dollars and Dress

I%26#39;ll be in PP soon doing some research. Normally, for interviews I would wear a coat and tie (pants, too...). I%26#39;m a bit concerned about looking wealthy while roaming around PP. Any thoughts? Are there many people dressed up or should I go a bit more casual (I%26#39;ll be interviewing business people, at NGO%26#39;s, bureaucrats, etc).

Also, it sounds like US $ are widely accepted. Do I need to convert money as soon as I get to the airport, or can I just use dollars?

Thanks in advance!

Dollars and Dress

US dollar is main currency, change is given back in Cambodian reils. :)

Dollars and Dress

Wow, thanks for the fast response! If I%26#39;ve got travelers checks, can I convert them to dollars or will they give me riel?

Never used travelers cheques in Cambodia, only dosh. Sure someone else will know.

Hello ,shirt tie and of course pants (LOL), quite a few do buisiness here , in just your underwear you will look wealthy in Cambodia .

Dollars good to go as Brit said , can exchange travellers cheques at a bank , coming for more than a month (?) , get a buisiness visa on arival , easy to extend long time .

Need an apartment ? There is a good one quite central at the end of this month , not easy to find .

If you look rich wearing just your underwear, I shudder to think how I should dress if I want to look ';unrich';?

Would a fig leaf be a common apparel? :)

A barang is a barang however he is dressed , just thought it an idea to add a little humour , re his almost forgetting to add %26#39;Pants %26#39; to his apparell .
