planning a 2 day itinerary of angkor/ siem reap in February

It ll be my first time in angkor, my flight will arrive 8am on a Friday and will be leaving around 8am on a Sunday. So I have 2 full days in Siem reap. This is my planned itinerary, please comment

Friday:

From the hotel, Go to Banteay Srei and buy 3day Angkor Pass there, lunch then ride a tethered balloon then spend the rest of the afternoon at Angkor wat.

Saturday:

Go to South Gate of Angkor thom then ride an elephant to the bayon. After that go to to the other temples: leper king, elephant, Ta phrom, and Preah khan.

question about going to banteay srei, how much is it to hire a taxi/ tuktuk? Is it better to hire a taxi for the whole day (banteay srei/ Angkor) and how much do I pay for it?

On the second day Ill just hire a tuktuk for the day. Thanks comments will be appreciated.

Banteay Srei is gorgeous! Good choice.

If you choose a tuktuk driver for the full day, the usual price is $10 - $15US. Our driver (who was great and we found through a recommendation on these forums) was $13/day for around the angkor complex and grand circuity. He then charged an additional $10US on the day we went out to Banteay Srei, because it%26#39;s just so far to go. I heard if you get a car, it will be double this.

But, I say, book a good reliale tuktuk driver and go that way! You can smell the fresh air, feel the breeze, and really enjoy the trip through the villages to Banteay Srei. It will take you about 1 hour. Be sure to stop at the roadside stalls and buy the orange coloured steamed buns from the women making them, or the sugar lollies wrapped in green palm leaves. Very yummy and local treats :)
