Can anyone tell me if there is a place(s) in Cambodia like the Sinh Cafe (the real one) that is all over Vietnam, that provide cheap, efficient and reliable one day tours?
For example in Nha Trang, Sinh Cafe provides a 4 island boat tour including, snorkelling, lunch and entertainment............all for $7 US pp.
It was so easy to use Sinh Cafe for most tours during my two trips to Vietnam, so am hoping there is similar in Cambodia.
Thanks
Coop
Sinh Cafe in Cambodia

Sinh Cafe in Cambodia
Wot a bummer. Maybe we could start our own and call it Johncooper Cafe. he he.
How did you end up getting what you were after?
Well I have not left yet ( can March 1st come any quicker?????????) sorry if the first post was misconstrued!!
We totally should start one up.
I found Sinh Cafe to be fantastic. We had a Ho Chi Minh- Hanoi - Sapa - Halong Bay, (7 nights, inc flights and all hotels (good hotels and Vietnam Airlines) for $220. Bargain.
Anyhow family of mine who%26#39;ve been there suggest finding a travel agency in every city.
When are you off?
Hi John,
Only 52 more sleeps till 1/3/09!
Oh God...............I%26#39;m not going till November this year.....miles and miles away, but I just love the planning stage and sucking as much info out of these forums as I can. (I give back too!)
You must let me know how you get on. I%26#39;m gathering from the comments left by people that a driver or guide might be able to organise everything for cheap.
I have been emailing a guy from Amsterdam, Leonard, who also uses this forum, who is trying to help a tuk tuk driver in SR build his business. I am impressed with what they have achieved together and I am going to ask them to organise everything for me as cheap as possible.( In Siem Reap anyway.)
I can provide email and web address if interested, he is very obliging.
Good Luck.
Coopy
Hey Coop!
52 indeed- my partner is doing the big countdown.
If needed in Phnom Penh- there is a driver called Sameth (Sam).
He used to be the Aussie consulates driver (my aunt met him as she worked with the Aus Govt in Cambodia and Vietnam).
His details are: Sameth Mon [sameth9@yahoo.com]. He is going to look after us in PP- all for very good prices.
I concur entirely re: the forum usage- some could say I spend TOO much time here. Pfft to them I say.
I will most certainly keep you posted w/ further info as it comes in:)
John.
Hi John,
Many thanks for the contact.I have saved his details. Will be interested in your comments upon your return. (Sorry, you haven%26#39;t even left yet and I%26#39;m talking about after!!)
I will have 3 nights in PP. Plan to do a one day Khmer cooking school (dragging my husband and friends as well) and then we will have 1.5 days to tour the sights. Was hoping for a Sinh cafe experience here, but seems unlikely.
From there going to Snooky,(3) Kampot,(2) Kep (1),then to Phu Quoc Island- Vietnam for 5 days.
Ditto ';Pfft to them';....love it...love it...love it!
PS. 1st March is my daughters birthday.............an excellent date!
Cooperellie
We fly in and out of PP and we have really no plans as to when we are going to where.
I think we are going to leave everything to the day and see then.
I definitely want to do Khmer cooking school as well, I%26#39;m sure that the girlfriend will be appreciative once we come home. I saw one on here in Battambang everyone raves about, called Smokin%26#39; Pot.
If I had to fathom a guess I%26#39;d say we%26#39;ll spend 3 days in PP, then off to SR, Angkor Wat for 3 days, off to Sen Monorom (Mondulkiri Province) for some trekking and jungle adventures (atop an elephant/dirtbike) and then to Snooky, Kep, Battambang and back to PP. Unfortunately we only have 15 nights there.. not nearly enough.
If you are interested in trekking (either by foot or elephant) let me know and I will pass on the guys details.
Hiya John,
I think you better pull out a map. If you travel the places you mentioned in that order, you will be ONLY travelling for 15 days and not stopping for anything!
You will be zig zagging all across the country. Some planning is necessary to get the most out of your trip.
Can I suggest PP to Sen M.
Sen to SR
SR to Battambang
Battambang to Snooky via PP
Snooky to Kampot
Kampot to PP
Cooking school in PP that I%26#39;m doing is $20US for the whole day which includes transport to the market to buy the ingredients, cooking and eating the yummy (hopefully) food.
Run by the Frizz Resturant.

I would love to do an elephant trek, but this trip I don%26#39;t have time to see the northeast provinces.
I was going to Battambang for 2 nights, but have changed my mind and added the extra days to SR (6 in total)as there is Sooooooooooooooo much to see and do there. Plus the speed boat trip to BB does not get a good rap from most people, eventhough Lonely Planet recommends it. I agonised for days over this, but now I am happy with my decision.(I think!)
Haha. My map is at home so I rattled everything off memory, not in order. But I%26#39;m going to check yours against our map tonight and plot it out! Thanks for your help ;-P.
The plan is to go-go-go in Cambodia, keep moving and see as much as possible.
We have two nights in KL on the way home (thanks to a favourable layover) so will catch up on as much lost sleep and relaxing as possible.
I still don%26#39;t know if we%26#39;ll take the speedboat or not, I%26#39;d also like to live on the edge a little bit and maybe just go overland via trailbike (even if it takes longer).
If it is only $20 in PP, we may end up going to Frizz as well. I%26#39;ve seen really good reviews. Also, I%26#39;m sure I%26#39;d learn something new in both places.
Sigh. Bring on March.
We just spent over a month in Camboida and Vietnam, using Sinh Cafe in Vietnam. There was nothing like it in Cambodia. However, there are travel agencies and a tuk-tuk driver can usually arrange anything you might want.
Our driver arranged for a boat from PP to Chu Duc for $10.
