Thailand %26amp; Cambodia!!
If you want to cross overland, the best information, and uptodate, is on www.talesofasia.com
Accomdation to suit all budgets is siem reap, from a couple of $ to 100%26#39;s of $. 30-50$ (us$), will get you some nice accomodation, with a pool - palm village, bopha angkor, day inn, etc etc

There is no rail service or bus that takes you across the border , you will need to bus it from BKK to Poipet ( Aranyapatet) about 5 hours , cross the border immigration etc , then catch a bus to Seam-Reap , or possibly a taxi .The ride from the border to SR is pretty rough going , most people catch a plane which takes 1 hour Bkk?SR . The fares have apparently dropped considerably now to $100.00 or as low as $50.00 if you book early , Asia Air or Bankok Airways .
Air Asia only fly BKK to Phnom Penh, not to Siem Reap.
PP is worthy of a few days stay and then you could catch the Mekong bus to Siem Reap. About a 4 hr trip with a 15 minute comfort stop half way.

Happy %26amp; safe travels
Where did you find fares from Bangkok to Siem Reap for $50-100? I%26#39;m looking and see fares starting at $180 per person one way.
I booked online with Bangkok Airways right when we
arrived in BKK a week ago and found $180 RT BKK to Siem Reap. It may have been a limited special. It gave me specific travel dates/times but we were flexible during our time here so it worked.
Was the plane fully booked? We are going to fly in from Chiang Rai, but since the connections are so tight, we will try to book a last minute flight to Siem Reap if we can. Otherwise we will head out of the airport and grab a taxi to the border and then another one once we get into Cambodia.
