Backpacking in Cambodia

Evening Everyone,

I am planning a backpacking trip next year and plan to come to Cambodia for approximately 3-4 weeks, or something like that. I am making a few initial enquiries at the moment and just want to know a few general bits and pieces for now.

I need to know if there is plenty of cheap to buggery-but clean accomodation around the island, perhaps hostels? Just cheap cheap! Any recomendations? Websites?

Also how much is a realistic cost of living per day, say 2 meals a few beers and a bit of transport etc? No shopping.

I also need to know about visas as i will more than likely be there more than 30 days. How does this work? And whats the best way to enter Thailand...one of the land border crossings or fly?

Many thanks for all your helps!

Backpacking in Cambodia

Hello Luc , Cambodia is not an island (LOL), there are good clean rooms with a fan for $5.00 a night , food, drinks and moto-taxi , look at around $20.00 a day , less if you eat Khymer and do not get p3333d every day .

Staying more than a month , the easiest way is to get a buisiness visa on arrival $25.00 , easily extended at a travel agent .

Easiest way to Thailand is of course to fly (but your arms may get tired ) overland is okay , good roads all the way now and of course you get to see more and cheaper . Think of going to Sihanook-ville , stay overnight , then catch a bus early morning , you get into Thailand early evening .

Book tickets the day before to ensure a seat .

Oh , buis visa gives you multiple entry .
