Hi everyone,
I have tried to book Flights to Siem Reap and Krabi through Bangkok Airways and Air Asia websites and in both cases I have received an error. Trying again gives me the same result. Is it b/c it is a canadian mastercard?
help!
Anyone had trouble booking flights online?
shouldn%26#39;t be a problem. I have seen other people post similar problems, but it was usually something like their systems were down, or the people were using firefox not IE.
bangkok airways should have a local representative office for you to phone - here
mysupermarket.co.uk/Shopping/…
there%26#39;s one in toronto and vancouver - not necessarily ';local'; to you, but close enough! lol
Anyone had trouble booking flights online?
thank you. did get air asia to work last night. Have been using firefox, will try IE for bangkok air booking, and then call customer service if needed. Appreciate your help
Hi april
When we booked our flights in funny enough april we were interested going BKK-PP with Air Asia but had a job to get a grip online with regards to what exactly am I going to pay for here and what is missing attitude??? Also a bit worried about baggage and add ons, So I went for Thai airways and will be using them for the first time in about two and a half weeks time. I hear they%26#39;re the business and although its costing nearly double what I was quoted with AA, I%26#39;m sure I%26#39;m going to get great value for money and service, I%26#39;m just a bit down that they%26#39;re so more expensive LHR-BKK, agh! well, were just keep buying those lottery tickets!!! Good luck.
Hi April - we booked with Air Asia for round trip Bangkok-Phuket from Canada and had no problems. We used a Visa Card that we have registered with %26#39;Visa Secure%26#39; - Mastercard has a similar program. Our trip to Siem Reap was with Bangkok Air but was booked by a travel agent as part of a multi-stop schedule. Hope this helps!
Thanks,
I did finally get both bookings to work.Air Asia was booked with Mastercard after quite a few tries, and Bangkok air would not work with the same card. I tried to do it for 1.5 days, their office in Canada was not helpful at all with giving an answer why it wouldn%26#39;t work. I then dug up an old visa card and it worked on the second try. still not sure why it was so hard to do!
Glad its all sorted! and also rather glad no-one commented on my random link that appeared! - got to love it when you paste the wrong thing! lol
Hi April
An FYI on Mastercard from a Fraud Investigator.
Mastercard would have more than likely blocked your payment going through to Thai Airways/Air Asia due to fraud prevention.
Eg. A mastercard analyst would have seen a Canadian card trying to purchase $2k in Malaysia (Air Asia) and then $1k (or similar) in Thailand.
As the merchant name (BKK Air etc) doesn%26#39;t come through at time of transaction- they would have blocked it to make sure your card numbers were not being used by someone deceitfully.
In future to prevent this just give Mastercard a call- or your bank and they%26#39;ll be able to open access to your card for that merchant. Alternatively, use a VISA- their fraud prevention is stronger without being so over-zealous.
Cheers
JC Bris.
I live in England and have booked flights in the last few months with both Bankok Airways and Air Asia and have had no problems at all. I have previously booked a flight with Air Asia a couple of years ago and had no problem. Sorry, it must be your canadian mastercard.
Well whenever I use Air Asia or Bangkok Air - get immediate blocks from the credit card. (fraud protection kicks in) You just need to let the credit card know prior what you are doing and you likely won%26#39;t have an issue.
Same thing happened with me - although my mastercard wasnt blocked for the air asia payment it was blocked after it. its frustrating but at least these guys are doing their jobs!!
