Mekong Bus

If I pay for bus tickets 10 to 15 days in advance from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh and agains another 10 to 15 days is advance from P Pehn to HCMC, will I be able to get a seat on the bus or will the my seat be ';lost'; as in we do not you on record for this trip.

Of particular concern in the PP to HCMC portion as it will be within the Tet Ney Yeae period.

Your seat location is normally noted on your ticket , just make sure it is when you purchase your ticket , i have not personally had this kind of problem . Get to the bus early and claim your seat if this is bothering you .

How did you pay your bus tickets? We are trying to buy Mekong express from Phnom penh to Siem Reap. However, we can%26#39;t find a place to buy these tickets on line. As we will arrive Phnom Penh very late at night, and would like to get on an early bus to Siem Reap. How to secure these tickets?

Thanks!

ODBALL,

Just like BLUEBIRD, I too would want to know if I can purchase the Mekong bus ticket on line.

Alternately, upon arival at P. Phenh, can I buy at P. Phenm tickets for:

1) P. Phenm to Siem Reap

2)and a return ticket for Siem Reap to P. Phenm

a week later

3)and another ticket for P. Phemn to Ho Chi Minh

City for another date (say 9 days later?

Thanks a lot.

Hi OnTheRoadToNoWhere, I believe the thread below has some of the answers that you%26#39;re looking for. Angkorlad wrote a very comprehensive advice on Mekong Express Bus.

Some excerpts from Angkorlad%26#39;s reply:

Sorry, but it is not currently possible to make bookings or to purchase tickets on line in advance. This is not a problem. On arrival, simply go to the Mekong Express Bus city office/terminal and book the tickets you require. The office is on Sisowath Quay,(Riverside) right opposite the City Port. Nearly every motodop and tuk tuk driver knows it. Usually, it is best to buy your ticket one or two days in advance of the required day of travel - this lets you chose your seat off the seating plan. However,in the high season they try to put on extra busses to meet the demand and many people just go straight from the airport on arrival to the Mekong Bus Office and are on their way to Siem Reap, Ho Chi Minh City or Sihanoukville within a couple of hours.

Hope the above info helps.

Does anyone know whether it makes sense for 2 of us to go directly from the PP airport (arrival 10:30) to the Mekong Express bus station and expect to secure seats? We arrive on February 17. I think there is a 12:30 or 12:00 bus (I keep seeing different schedules), but I didn%26#39;t know how long it would take to go through customs and then get to the bus station. Also, can you buy a ticket at the bus station? I keep seeing an address for the ticket office, but we%26#39;d have to go directly to the bus station if we%26#39;re short on time.

I%26#39;d appreciate any feedback on this. We%26#39;re excited about getting to SR, and then we%26#39;ll spend a day in PP on our way out of the country. I%26#39;d prefer not to have to stay in PP our first night and then again on our way out.

Thanks!

Does anyone know what time the Mekong Exress%26#39; Office closes? I fly in around 3 pm (March 26)and not sure if I will have enough time to head down to the office to purchase the ticket to leave on the 7am bus the next morning?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
