Saigon to Pnomh Penh to Siem Reap

I would very much appreciate any comments on the best ways (other than air) to get to either (or both) Pnomh Penh and Siem Reap. I understand that therew is a comfortable bus that leaves Saigon early in the morning and arrives at P.P. about 5 hours later.

Is that correct and feasible to do? Is there a direct bus to Siem Reap from Saigon? We%26#39;re looking for alternatives to flying.

Thank you in advance.

Saigon to Pnomh Penh to Siem Reap

It is correct and very feasible. There is a company called Mekong Express which runs very comfortable services from PP to SR and Saigon and down to Sinoukville on the coast. There are other companies who run the PP to SR route cheaper but on less modern buses (I took one from SR to Bangkok which was a nightmare!) And yes, it takes about 5/6 hours in either direction. They usually stop at a restaurant for half-an-hour mid-route for lunch and provide a snack with your ticket. PP to SR cost me $9.00 - but there are cheaper although less comfortable services! Book your ticket at least the day before you travel. The Mekong Express office in PP is on the quayside. Also don%26#39;t take the boat to SR. They are dangerously old, you get badly burnt sitting outside, and they%26#39;re about 3 times the price. Don%26#39;t bother flying, you%26#39;ll miss out on the beauty of rural Cambodia.

I%26#39;m very great when i took Mekong Express. It gave me comefortalbe and safty. I think this company is the most out standing one in Cambodia. Oh....,I forgot ask you a question! I have no seen Mr. guide for long times who has thin body and white skin. I like listening his explanation cos his voice is very soft.

Boat ride from PP to SR was brilliant, far preferable than taking the coach IMHO. (more scenic) Does get warm inside the boat, but other than that twas a very enjoyable ride. Well worth the extra dosh for a once in the life time experience.

BTW the boat we were on, was fairly new. :)
