Bamboo Island

Is it possible to leave Phnom Penh in the morning for Sihanoukville and after we get there, get a boat to Bamboo Island so that we could spend a few nights there? We have three nights that we want to spend in the Sihanoukville area and Bamboo Island sounds like it would be perfect for the first two nights.

Most of the boats head out in the morning and your bus from PP wont arrive in Sihanoukville until about midday.

You might be better off settling into accommodation in Sihanoukville for the first night, leave the bulk of you bags there and do an overnighter to Bamboo island before returning to the guesthouse for your last night in Sihanoukville.

Bamboo Island

I did a day trip to Bamboo Island and found it underwhelming. I would rather spend my time on Otres Beach (or other beaches) where there%26#39;s more to do and a variety of good restaurants.

Great evening BBQs on the beach at Sihanoukville. Just watch the charming sellers on the beach. I hapily paid US$5 for a little bracelet only to later learn that the average adult wage can be as low as $US2.50. It helps to put things in perspective.
