You need to get your Vietnam visa before you go, it%26#39;s not complicated. Just fill in the application form which you can download, attach a photo and send them $70.00 in a yellow overnight post back.

The Cambodian visa you can either get at the border or before. I am going to get it at the border.

Oh! You need to send your passport too.

Mine took about 12 days.

Thanks,

we were in Bangkok last year followed by siem reap and Vietnam.

You can get your Cambodian visa at the airport in siem reap when you land- everyone does this and it takes about twenty-thirty mins from when you arrive.

You need to have your Vietnam visa organised before you get there.

My friends sent their application and passport off to London- we live in Dublin, no Vietnamese embassy here- and their stuff only arrived back the day before they headed off. They were very worried about this so I think its only an option if you have a few weeks or longer.

Another way to do it is to contact any travel agency in Vietnam and ask them to organise the visa for you.

i did this through Tonkin Travel in Hanoi ( I googled it) which is owned by an Aussie guy and run by native Vietnamese.

Basically you fill out a form they email you online, they do the necessary papaerwork and then they mail you back a form that confirms you are arriving legally in Vietnam.

We showed this letter to customs when we arrived in hanoi and then they processed it and charged us our entry fee. It took about ten-fifteen mins to complete.

we had organised other stuff through Tonkin- hotels and flights- so we paid them when we got to hanoi. I found them to be very helpful.

the third thing you can do is organise your Vietnam visa in Bangkok if you are there for a couple of days.

You can either go to the Embassy and wait etc- it will take a while- or you can call into any agency and ask them to organise someone to do this for you. It will cost a bit more but you dont end up wasting time queueing on your hols.

your hotel should be able to recommend an agency nearby.

I hope this helps you out. Contact me if you have other questions. You will have a great time in Vietnam and Cambodia. Lucky you!!
