Bus upto SR for one night only .

Am going to be in PP for 5 days at christmas but know we can%26#39;t go all that way without seeing Angkor Wat .

I looked back over some of the past questions about buses but can%26#39;t see how anyone books it .

As it%26#39;s so close to christmas 23/12 , I don%26#39;t want to end up with not being able to get a seat but also I%26#39;d like to book my room for the night so all is secure .

There are 3 of us and this way we%26#39;ll be able to see the counrtyside and not be flying above it...thought about the boat and may consider this on the way back .

So can anyone point me in the correct direction %26amp; should we take a chance on a triple room or book and hope for the best ?

You should book your room in SR ahead of time as it%26#39;s peak season.

Your hotel in Phnom Penh should be able to get your bus tickets on the Mekong Express, no problem.

That%26#39;s what I thought...can%26#39;t find anywhere on my hotel website with details for that kind of thing though , will maybe try phoning them .

My husband heard that we could (maybe) hire a driver for the two days and it would work out obviously not as cheap , but more practical %26amp; just a little bit more comfortable...any views ?

You can book your bus direct with Mekong Express and they will allocate your seats. The office/terminal is down on the riverfront.

The trip takes about 5 hrs each way with a 20-30 minute stop half way. Taxi would only be marginally quicker and definately book your room ahead of time.

had a look at your blog the other day after reading your post on another topic .

Unfortunately we don%26#39;t arrive in PP untill late on the 21st Dec%26#39; and want to travel up to SR on the 23rd . Obviously cutting it fine with guarantees of seats which is why I was hoping there was an alternative way to book , so I could sort it out now and book our room for the night .

I will try though on our day of arrival and get it sorted with our hotel , if not then we%26#39;ll see about a taxi .

If anyone has got a surefire way to book these tickets then would love to hear from you .

Yes you would be lucky to get a seat given your timeframe. Perhaps email them and see if they will reserve your seats.
