me and my boyfriend are currently putting our trip together, we have a lots of places to see in a few months,
i was just wondering roughly how long to slot in Cambodia for? is a week enough? does it need to be two?
i dont want to stretch it out of there is nothing to see and equally i dont want to leave before we have seen everything
thanks Nicci
How long?
Maybe you can clarify what you want out of your trip.
At first glance, it seems that you may want just a quick see of famous things - - if it is a flash tour of things, theoretically Cambodia can be done in about 2-4 days.
IMHO, such an approach will lead to little experiencing of Cambodian culture and peoples. A more saturated, easy-paced, and well-rounded experience would take at least 3 weeks. Less is more.
There are different strokes for different folks - your exact interests and goals will help folks advise you.
How long?As previous poster said, figure out what you want to do there before deciding the timeframe. If you want the basic tourist route, spend at least 3 full days seeing the temples at Angkor (that%26#39;ll mean 4.5 days in Siem Reap) plus 2 or 3 days in Phnom Penh. Start with a good guidebook, or do your research online. Here%26#39;s a link to some Cambo. info-

Ack! Sorry about that! This link works, I think-

hi,
me and my boyfriend were in Cambodia (and Laos) last year. We spent about two weeks in Cambodia and absolutely loved it.
*We arrived in Phnom Penh from Vientiane around noon and still caught the bus to Sihanoukville.
*3 days in SV (beach and Ream National park) then the bus back to PP
* 3 days PP which was enough to see everything, we did get up early and walk a lot. The second day we hired a tuktuk for Tuol Sleng and killing fields. If you want souvenirs from the market : go in the morning, you%26#39;ll get better prices.
* 2 days battambang: we thought this was very very rewarding! We went to the countryside on a moto and had a wonderful time. You get away from the tourists and we had nice talks with our cambodian guides. Very nice
* 10h boat trip to siem reap, worth it but very very exhausting.
* 3 days siem reap, we hired a tuktuk driver that took us around for 3 days.
hope this helps!
