Restaurant recommmendations for a romantic dinner

While we are Siem Reap we have a special birthday to celebrate. I am looking for a nice classy, romantic restaurant for dinner to celebrate the occassion.

Open to all sorts of cusine, more important is the location and ambiendce.

I did try searching but couldn%26#39;t find anything.

Raffles Grand d%26#39;Angkor (where we stayed for 6 nights in March) has 2 restaurants... Their Khmer-French fancy Restaurant Le Grand is very expensive, beautiful %26amp; romantic... service incredible, ambiance wonderful... have a pre-dinner cocktail in the famous Elephant Bar, where there%26#39;s a cocktail named for Jackie Kennedy...

If you can%26#39;t afford Le Grand, Cafe D%26#39;Angkor is beautifully candlelit at night, white linen table clothes, very reasonable continental cuisine, excellent service... and there%26#39;s an outside terrace over-looking the largest pool in Asia bordered by frangipani trees %26amp; a Khmer pavilion at the end... where they have the traditional Khmer music/dance performance a few nights a week.

Either place you will be treated like royalty, with good A/C (but not too much) %26amp; no bugs as it%26#39;s indoors (unless you eat on the terrace). Casual nice dress for Cafe %26amp; business casual for Le Grand.

Good wines, cocktails %26amp; great French desserts in both places.

Raffles Grand d%26#39;Angkor is across from the Royal Gardens.

Another suggestion would be Carnet d%26#39;Asie

French/asian fusion, really nice food, relaxed atmosphere, nice cocktails and wine list. Beautiful ambiance. Dinner for two with a couple of drinks around $50.

if you want to do some Khmer food the best is at Sugar Palm.

Have a look at Meric at the hotel de la Paix. It is considered one of the best restaurants in Cambodia.

The setting is lovely - ask for a table on the terrace - the food and service I enjoyed recently were both excellent.

Starters US$9 - $14

Mains - US$22 - $26

+ 5% service charge and 10% tax.
