Romantic Dinner

Is there a place that anyone can recommend for a nice romantic dinner in Phnom Penh?

Thanks for the help,

Romantic Dinner

How about Tell restaurant, fantastic food, good prices etc etc and you could have a private room with your own bar staff at no extra cost. Theres a few photos on my link below.

Romantic Dinner

There are many places to have a romantic meal in PP, however for something nice but different there is a place just outside of Phnom Penh about 5 KM on the road to Siem Reap. Here there are many places which are no more than wooden structures over looking one of the lake areas. Great at night with a few candle and you can try out some khmer dishes which is quite fun.

There are many to choose from and if you get a tuk tuk they can take you no problems.

Could you post more info on those little places? I love that kind of place, where locals hang out and great food is on offer. Would like to know how to give directions to a tuk-tuk driver.

I recently had a most enjoyable dinner at both Pacharan (Spanish) and Atmosphere (French).

Maneki, the place is Boeng Kak Lake. Lots of beautiful huge restaurants around the lake. Not many tourists go there to eat mainly well to do Khmers, fantastic place, if it is still there as its under development with many forced evictions.

We went to Boeng Kok restaurant last year theres some photos and info on my link below plus I have left another link so you can see what they are doing to this beautiful area.

Cathy%26amp;Gary-

The lake, you mean the backpacker ghetto area?

I think he meant the places where the road crosses Tonle Sap, that indeed heads out to Siem Reap. Just wondering how to explain that area to a tuk-tuk driver...

Yes there is a backpacker area there but its a huge lake with many villages etc as well, the restaurants we went to are not within the backpacker area. Though not sure how much of the area is left now as it is a year since we were there.

Depends on your budget- but for top class:

Pacharon (sp?) is a very nice Spanish place in a renovated colonial building.

Van%26#39;s: Just opened this year near the Post Office. Very Classy and in a great building.

La Residence: use to be the kings old home. Very good food, very high class (though they keep the place very cold!)

Topaz: Always a good choice. On Norodom.

Malis: An interesting place with Khmer-Fusion cuisine. Very nice set up. Also on Norodom.

Can%26#39;t go wrong with any of those for a romantic night.

La Residence, Topaz, and Malis would probably be my top choices. I tried Van%26#39;s once (in January, I think) and thought it was overpriced and not that good. Pacharan is OK, but the prices have gone up and the quality of the food has gone down IMO; the decline in food quality started around the time that they stopped having a Spanish chef in the kitchen full-time. Though if you%26#39;re not very familiar with Spanish cuisine then you may not notice.

For Maneki-neko: The area with the restaurants that you%26#39;re thinking of is indeed across the bridge and along the road that heads to Siem Reap (and elsewhere). The area is called Prek Leap, and any tuk-tuk driver should know it; there are many restaurants there.

This is different from Boeung Kak, which is within the city.
