Getting to Mondulkiri / Sen Monorom

My friend and I will soon be Cambodia bound and have decided to get off the beaten track and head out to Mondulkiri province to do some elephant trekking and see some waterfalls.

The problem is working out the best way to get there form Phnom Penh, and get around once we are there. Each site I%26#39;ve checked on the internet seems to contradict each other.

My main question is what is the best (quickest and most comfortable) way to travel. How long does it take.

We also have limited time. Ideally we would like to spend a day travelling there from Phnom Penh. 2 days seeing the sites. Then a day to travel back to Phnom Penh.

Thanks in advance.
