Does anyone know what%26#39;s going on with Siem Reap Airways - they are saying that they have cancelled all flights as they are now on the EU banned list? This is an EU list not Asia so wondering why they have cancelled = particularly as they say on their website that they should not be on the list as they are wet leasing their planes from a non-banned airline.....
Siem Reap Airways Suspension
First came this
asiaone.com/Travel/News/Story/A1Story2008111…
where they were added to a European banned list for ';safety'; reasons although nothing specific appears to have been said
Then this
flightglobal.com/articles/2008/11/26/319382/…
The flights are suspended, but have been operated by bangkok airways planes since 22nd Nov, with international flights suspended from the 1st Dec
Does that clear it all up?! lol
Siem Reap Airways Suspension
Ermmmmm not really - you cant book with bangkok airways for these routes either...
What route are you wanting to book? Anything via Bkk has been cancelled until saturday.
Have tried a dummy booking between SR-PP - which is the traditional SR airways route, and that%26#39;s all fine and dandy to book for feb
might be worth a call to their uk office if you have any queries
for my orginal reply, it was marginally said with jest about the links making it clearer!
Hopefully the re-opening of the airports in BKK will at least in part, sort out some of the problems!
Yeah it wasnt very clear to say the least....I was looking to book Pakse to Siem Reap in Feb.
what route do you want? I got a price of around 55$ for one way SR-PP
a return trip booked on expedia comes in at 147£, obviously first one doesn%26#39;t inc taxes etc
So, i suspect you%26#39;ll be fine - and expedia, and other places are on quidco, so a few more quid back! lol
not going PP-SR want to go from Pakse (in Laos) to PP
or Pakse to SR
According to the Siem Reap Airways route map on their website, they fly from Siem Reap to Pakse direct.
yeah - thats the point they say they fly the route but you cant actually book anything because of the EU ban
The EU blacklisted the Airlines and Cambodian Government reacted by grounding the Airlines afterward and asked the airlines to fix the problem.
However Bangkok airways, the parent company, is operating all flights operated by Siem Reap airways before. So you can probably book the flight through bangkok airways.
